Let us extend a helping hand, with heartfelt compassion and the deepest love, to our motherland Sri Lanka, which has been struck by a natural disaster.

In recent days, a devastating natural calamity claimed a significant number of lives in our country, while many homes were permanently buried under landslides. In addition, a large number of houses were destroyed or severely damaged, as we have heard and witnessed. Many of our loved ones living in Sri Lanka have also been affected in various ways by this tragedy. To all of them, we extend our deepest sorrow and heartfelt love.

We are committed to doing everything we can for them and for our beloved motherland, Sri Lanka during this difficult time. Therefore, based on the majority decision, we have chosen not to hold our annual event, “Lanka Nite” featuring Sajitha Anthony on 13th December 2025.

Seeing the suffering of our country and our people, we cannot in good conscience celebrate and rejoice. Our hearts simply do not allow it. Even though we live outside our motherland, the cultural values and sensitivity we learned growing up in Sri Lanka will never fade from us. With that same love, we stand together with the Sri Lankan people in their grief.

From here in Sweden, we unite our strength with you and with all those affected by this disaster. We are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities and doing everything we can to help them and to support the rebuilding of Sri Lanka.

We hope to provide assistance especially to the little children who are suffering by helping them with the school supplies they need, such as books, pens, pencils, school bags, and other essentials.

If you too wish to contribute in any way you can, we have provided the details below for your kind donations:
